Heaton takeaway owner ‘still shaking’ after supplying 50 Cent with iconic pizzas after Newcastle arena show

The owner of a Newcastle takeaway was left “shaking” after supplying rapper 50 Cent with a couple of his iconic pizzas.

Ilhan Ozcan, of Pizzaholic on Chillingham Road in Heaton, was left speechless after the US rapper’s security team rang him up to put an order in – while the 47-year-old businessman was actually at the concert. Ilhan was then invited backstage to meet the star, before he sent two 32-inch pizzas to the Vermont Hotel, where ‘Fiddy’ and his crew were staying.

The meeting came after the New York rapper performed in front of a packed out crowd at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on Saturday night as part of his Final Lap Tour. Posting on Instagram on Sunday, the rapper said the concert was “lit”.

A big fan of his music, Ilhan, who has owned Pizzaholic for 13 years, bought two tickets for himself and his son for the show months ago. But after his son pulled out, he gave away the spare ticket as part of a competition on the takeaway’s Facebook page and went to the gig on his own. But before the show ended, he began receiving calls.

Ilhan said: “When I was at the concert I received a phone call from an American number and then kept getting missed calls. I thought it was a cousin who lives in New York, so I didn’t answer as I was enjoying the concert. When I returned the call it was the head of security for 50 Cent and they said they wanted pizza.

“I told them I was actually at the concert and asked if I could meet him. They then arranged for me to meet him and told me I had one minute to talk to him. After the show I went to see him and said I was a huge fan and that the concert was fantastic.
